This linocut, enriched with playful spray paint accents, unfolds in vibrant, multicoloured layers that celebrate the unexpected beauty of perception.
Alice is shown in a moment of elastic suspension, draped over a chair, wearing a striped dress. Her hair transforms into a flowing water whirl, as if gravity has softened and reality has loosened its grip.
The image is energetic and joyful, inviting us into a world where imagination bends the familiar and colour becomes emotion.
It is a reminder to embrace life and to cherish the small wonders that appear when we allow ourselves to look differently.
mulberry paper
Mulberry paper is made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. The bark can be harvested without cutting the tree down, as it grows back over time, which makes it a sustainable material.
I love to work with this paper because it has a natural, soft feel and a slightly irregular texture. to me it looks a bit like silk — a comparison that makes sense when you think about how silkworms feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree.
For me, it’s a simple, honest material that fits well with the way I work.
