This print plays with the double meaning of the word arms. Here, it refers to human arms—tools for care, growth, and renewal.
A strong and direct image, it suggests a shift from force to care: using strength in service of the earth and its natural processes of growth.
An artwork as an invitation to act.
mulberry paper
Mulberry paper is made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. The bark can be harvested without cutting the tree down, as it grows back over time, which makes it a sustainable material.
I love to work with this paper because it has a natural, soft feel and a slightly irregular texture. to me it looks a bit like silk — a comparison that makes sense when you think about how silkworms feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree.
For me, it’s a simple, honest material that fits well with the way I work.
