I am a moment, another bright star
Stardust
This work reflects on our existence—the brief time we are here on earth—and the invitation to feel free, to fly, to shine, and to recognize ourselves as part of the universe.
A woman is depicted with a white bird held within her heart, symbolizing lightness, hope, and inner freedom. The image carries both simplicity and depth: a reminder that each of us is, in essence, is a star.
Printed in deep blue, the work evokes the night sky—endless and full of presence.
Bhutan Paper
Traditional Bhtanese paper or Deb-sho paper is produced from the inner bark of the Daphne papyracea and related to the Daphne Biholua shrubs that grow in the Himalayas. This durable, insect resistant paper has been made in Bhutan for centuries and was historically used for Buddhist manuscripts, prayer flags and official documents.
Because this paper is handmade, each sheet is unique. The dimensions may vary slightly, and small differences in the edges or surface are part of the character of the paper.
Every sheet passes through the hands of its maker. During the papermaking process, some pulp may extend slightly beyond the mould or remain just within its edges, creating the beautiful, irregular deckled edges that make handmade paper so special.
I deliberately never frame my handmade paper with a mat or passe-partout that hides these edges. To me, they are an essential part of the artwork. They add texture, character and a sense of authenticity — a visible reminder that the paper was made by hand.
This is precisely why I choose handmade paper: to preserve the human touch and allow the traces of the making process to remain visible.
