This work reflects the act of turning toward the heart as a way of perceiving—not as an escape from thought, but as a complementary way of understanding, where feeling and intuition are allowed to take part.
The pink layer is created as a monotype, resulting in subtle variations in each print. Every piece is therefore unique, with its own soft shifts in tone and texture.
Each print is individually handled by Erna, giving it a distinct, tactile presence.

mulberry paper
Mulberry paper is made from the inner bark of the mulberry tree. The bark can be harvested without cutting the tree down, as it grows back over time, which makes it a sustainable material.
I love to work with this paper because it has a natural, soft feel and a slightly irregular texture. to me it looks a bit like silk — a comparison that makes sense when you think about how silkworms feed on the leaves of the mulberry tree.
For me, it’s a simple, honest material that fits well with the way I work.
